What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy (OT) provides care and support to individuals with spinal cord damage. This can include: assessment for and trial of assistive technology including wheelchairs, shower chairs, beds and mattresses, pressure relief equipment and hoists, driving assessments, functional capacity assessments, pressure mapping and home modifications.
Who can access Occupational Therapy services?
Anyone over the age of 16 who has spinal cord damage living in Queensland can access our OT services, regardless of when your injury was acquired. We work with a wide range of funding providers including, NDIS, NIISQ, CHSP, Aged Care, CoS and private funding. If you don’t see your funding provider listed, get in touch as we may still be able to support you.

What type of services do Occupational Therapists offer?
Our Occupational Therapists provide a wide range of services, including, equipment prescription, home modifications, pressure care management, SDA assessments, home modification assessment and driving assessments.
Why would I need to see an Occupational Therapy?
We recommend seeing an OT If you are having difficulty managing some of your daily activities as the result of your spinal cord damage. We offer assessments to determine the best solution for you. We conduct assessments for, and prescription of manual and powered wheelchairs, shower equipment, beds, mattresses, pressure relief cushions, hoists, vehicle modifications and return to driving assessments.
Do you only offer Occupational Therapy services to people with spinal cord damage?
We provide support to anyone who has a physical disability including, Spinal Cord Injury, Transverse Myelitis, Post-Polio, as well as neurological conditions such as MS, Cerebral Palsy, MD and more.

How long will it take before Occupational Therapy sessions can start?
One you get in touch with our Customer Engagement team, they’ll provide you with all the on boarding information you will need to complete. Once completed it can up to eight weeks to see an available OT.
